Probably the most visited island in the world is Honolulu where millions of people from all over America and Japan stay every year. After they have made their way through the airport, the vast majority will be heading towards the Waikiki area of the island. This is a exciting area and it has an immediate effect on everyone that goes there as it is full of life. Waikiki is known for its excitement, so much so in fact that many people never leave this area to explore other beautiful parts of the island. Every year over 6 million visitors miss out of sights, which local residents find most winsome and all of them lie within a radius of 2 square miles of Waikiki.

The Contemporary Museum - This beautiful museum is not very large by museum standards and is situated high up on a ridge that offers spectacular vistas - it can be found on Makiki Heights drive. The changing exhibits in this small museum spread across its 5 galleries could be an enthralling experience, and after this you could walk into gardens full of sculptures. 5 acres, includes sculptures as well as places for meditation, and can offer an unforgettable view of Honolulu.

Honolulu Chinatown - This is a strange and fascinating place where you can believe you are not only in another country but a different time period. This is like being in a small part of China where you can obtain anything you would expect to find in the mainland Country. The streets and shops are exotic, offering items not found in a typical American grocery. While you could always take a guided walking tour of the place the wisest thing to do is to go for a walk by yourself, walking leisurely and only stopping to see something, which tickles your areas of interest.

You will only truly enjoy Oahu as the locals do if you leave the Waikiki area and explore this beautiful island for yourself. Move around all or some of the destinations mentioned above and soon you would realize why Hawaii is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
